The black Plague is similar to the coronavirus in multiple ways. The black plague had a very high fertility rate. Once someone got the Plague, it was almost guaranteed that they were not going to live through it. The Corona virus is very new to us so we don't know if it kills everyone. It doesn't seem to show up in kids symptom wise, but that doesn't mean we aren't carriers. Older people 60+ really seem to be the people who it's a scare for. Their immune systems are weak and if they get the virus it is very hard to fight for them. People and Italy are even saying that they might not treat those 60+ because they don't feel it's necessary.

Today in Mr. Schicks class we read pages on Greeks Golden Age the democratic principles and classical culture  during the Greeks Golden Age the following terms are apart of the Greek Golden Age: - direct democracy: this is a form of government when the citizens of the city rule directly and not through representatives - classical art: the peoples values of harmony, order, balance, and proportion - tragedy: a type of play that went on that involved serious drama, love, hate, and war - comedy: another type of play that contained slapstick situations and crude humor - Peloponnesian war: a long war between Sparta and Athens - philosopher: these people were thinkers of "lovers of wisdom" - socrates: this man was a critic of sophists that had disbeliefs - plato: this man was a student of Socrates who studied under him till he died then documented their conversations - Aristotle: this man was a philosopher who questioned the nature of the world

Pericles was j a statesman who led Athens in their Golden age, held onto popular support for 32 years. He was a politician, a general and a speaker who had great control on Athens. The age of Pericles was from 4B1 BC to 429 BC. His main 3 goals for Athens was to strengthen its Democracy, to hold and strengthen the empire, and to make Athens beautiful. A direct democracy is a form of government where citizens rule and not through representatives, the people make most of the decisions. Pericles ruled with a direct democracy. Male citizens in Athens who served under the assembly established important politics regarding the polis. Ina direct democracy Pericles says, " everyone is equal before the law." Direct democracy doesn't include the discrimination between classes, but the actual ability in which a man has. If it is up to Pericles, no one will be outcasted because they are poor.
