Today in Mr schicks class we did works from our books on the chapter review for greece.
Classical Art: Values of harmony, order, balance, and proportion
Tragedy: A serious Drama about common themes such as love, hate and war
Peloponnesian war: A war that was between two city states, Athens and Sparta
Socrates: Believed that absolute standards did not exist. Died from being poisoned
Plato: A student of socrates, wrote down conversations he had with socrates then went on to write republic
What is pericles impact on modern day society:
His impact on the world was democracy, we would have almost have no rights without out it and be under a direct dictatorship. We may even have been cut off from society as north korea and other places with dictatorship are.
What was Pericles main goals to fix Greece:
1) To strengthen Athens Democracy
2) To hold and strengthen the empire
3) To glorify athens
Why would people be disturbed by the works of socrates:
It would be the first time they had to be able to speak for themself in any country in the world and they may not have known how it would have turned out.
